Red memories, an assemblage sculpture
To realize this work I had to use a technique of assembly of motherboards that I had previously developped for another face that I 've showed before on my blog (Thread: "Blue memories" sculpture).
It was difficult to cut all the elements with enough precision. Everything was done without template just by cutting and assembling one by one the elements. Many steps backwards here too.
It is difficult to make a curved volume with flat surfaces, limiting as much as possible the pieces and without starting plan.The other difficulty was to assemble the two distinct parts (bronze and boards). They are detachable each other to enable the silver plating of the bronzes.
The finishing is a patinated silver plating.
I took great pleasure in this challenge.

Wooow. How did you make the lips? And is the motherboard side of his head really delicate? I imagine a good squeeze might crush it. Was it difficult to get the boards to stay together like that?

Thanks @lenadr . The lips are casted from a wax i've sculpted.
The motherboard side is not so delicate , motherboards are composite materials very strong and difficult to cut. Gluing is made with a resin inside with a good thickness and finally the result is ok.
Yes it was difficult to cut perfectly the boards and i had to file them with a backstand.
