Let's talk about colors, depth and texture!

Fitz Herrera's exhibit at Gallerie Anna will make your brain crave for music and treats!

STOP REWIND PLAY

I was visiting my friend's artwork in one of the galleries at SM Megamall and then I also walked around the art space to see and look through other artworks. It was then I saw Fitz Herrera 's exhibit. I know it is his. Then I saw the poster to confirm that it's really his.

At first I hesitated to walk inside because there are people inside who looks so elite and fine ( I looked like an anthlete who just finished a marathon, haggard and sweaty) but the receptionist tell me to look the other paintings inside. I tend to have a social anxiety and I feel intimidated, that's what I felt when I saw the persons inside but when I started to look at Fitz paintings, all my anxiety and worries just fade away.

The depth in each part of the paintings really captivated me. The color combination and the forms. It's like bringing you to his mind which I think is full of clouds and rythm.

Fitz Hererra is one of the well-known artists here in the Philippines 🇵🇭. He is also a musician.

Fitz Herrera, a dedicated abstract artist was born in Caloocan, and raised in Nueva Vizcaya until highschool and then relocated again to Manila for his college education. It can said that his initiation and exposure to partly rural and then city life provided a good contrast which nurtured his creativity. Growing up and maturing in These immersive and disparately distinct environments and their textures mixed with his experiences profoundly shaped his thinking and aesthetic character; the province being quiet and then later Caloocan being a more squalid replete with the harsh realities of urban life and economic struggles.

Some people may not be into abstract arts but if you really look at it, there could be more meaning than you think it has. The good thing about looking into an abstract painting is that people will think of their own interpretation. Some interpretations are different to what the artist think when he's painting his obra maestra, some people may interpret it the same. Bottomline is
Abstract art gives us the freedom to think and exercise our minds like puzzles
