Archisteem: We Have Our Graphic Designer In Place for 1001 Places to Remember!

in #archisteem6 years ago

This post is dedicated to @archisteem’s 1001 Places to Remember.

Two days ago, I had managed to contact a graphic designer who has the interest to join the @archisteem group. She will be collaborating with the team to work out the 1001 Places to Remember publication design template. We had a short discussion together about the possibilities of making the publication templates which she will be producing a few drafts for the team to decide on.

By letting her understanding our intention of doing this, which is to provide a hybrid storybook that combines travel information, personal story, and geography knowledge in one book. The publication is set to appeal to readers who are keen to explore the world, curious and adventurous, especially teenagers. Like myself, I was unable to travel that much during my teenage due to financial constraints and not matured enough to be traveling alone; the storybook can definitely become a tool for me to explore the world through other people’s eye. It is also impossible for everyone to travel and visit every corner of the world as there will be different constraints. Therefore, the storybook comes in as a cheaper alternative for people to achieve that.

The content in it will be a simple summary of a story with chosen photographs and some information about the story like location, author, and full story link. Here are some contents that will be included in the publication:

  1. 1001 Stories
  2. Project Introduction
  3. Project Introduction
  4. Sponsorship Fame Wall
  5. World Map
  6. The Team Behind
  7. Glossary

Besides discussing about the contents, we also look into possible way to put all of these contents in between the book cover. We found that the contents may be too thick to be made into a single publication. What we are looking for is to produce something like a portable storybook that can be brought around for readers to flip through and explore the amazing world. Definitely, we do not want the publication to become a heavy and bulky dictionary that could only be kept on the shelf. Thus, we suggest that the publication can be split into 3 segments. They are either segmented by location (like Asia & Australia, Europe and Africa, America) or by other categorization.

The design theme for the publication will be simplistic and fun. Simplistic is due to the amount of information contained in it which makes it filled with text and photographs. Any additional design will spoil the value of the contents. That is the reason that we picked simplistic as the main design theme to highlight the contents. As a supporting theme, we want to make the content fun to consume. Here we want to innovate with some feature that we will be announcing soon once we had decided on it. We want to make it an identity for the project that could utilize indefinitely by other projects under @archisteem or any collaborators.

In the meantime, I also asked her to set up Steemit account as well as her profile here to officially introduce to the community. Before that, here is some of the artwork that she made for her client which I find very interactive and fun. I believe that she can definitely do a great job for this publication and make us even closer to our goal.

I am waiting for this book, it seems interesting. You do a lot of different things, hmmm but what's your main job?

It really needs a lot of support from the community to realize it.
I am a practicing architect, a full-time job from 9 to 6. Whereas @archisteem is my side geek for now. Would definitely hope to turn it around and make it into a business or sort.
