Lack of Cleanliness Leaves Rohingya Children & Elderly Battling with Diseases

Balukhali, Cox's Bazaar: Lack of cleanliness have risked lives of Rohingya children and elderly in a makeshift camp of Balukhali area of Cox's Bazaar district in Bangladesh, reports a local Rohingya today (22nd March 2019).

At Block B1- L6 of Balukhali - 2 makeshift camp an open gutter running throughout the camp have left the sheltering Rohingya's lives miserable in the area.
The situation has turned up to worst level now, where now people are unable to pray, sleep and even breathe properly.
When asked about the cleanliness from the sheltering Rohingya they said since their arrival they have never seen anyone cleaning the gutter.

"Yes cleaners do come here like other area but they just do very minor cleaning in front on the shelters and they never clean properly," saya a religious teacher from the area.
"The students comes to the Maktab (religious school) but due to the smell they cannot study properly," he add further.

To ease their sufferings they are requesting to Bangladesh government and INGOs working in the camp to look up into the situation as soon as possible.
This is not the first camp where Rohingya are suffering due to the lack of cleanliness, earlier many similar cases were reported from several makeshift camps with similar sufferings.
