Is the drop in IPhone sales a sign of something larger?
The IPhone was a printing press of money for Apple over the past two decades. The last quarter of 2018 is the first fourth quarter decline in sales since 2000. With a forecast of reduced sales for the months ahead, Apple could be seeing the first year-over-year decline in sales in a long time.
The question is this just an Apple problem? The ongoing trade war with China obviously has something to do with it. We saw the Fed pull back last week a day before Italy was proclaimed to enter into a recession.
It is widely accepted the global economy is slowing.
