Self Help Books:

I've been an avid reader of Self Help books from the past couple of months. They're a really good investment of time in that they give you something worth more than what you invest in. I have learned so many things by reading books that I was not even aware of.

However, reading them requires quite a lot of time which most of us lack because of our day to day schedules and work. We are a generation that wants quick results. If you're one of those who wants to be able to read a book of 200+ pages in 10-15 minutes and want to absorb all the key points contained in it, I've found the right app for you.

Self-Help Book Summaries:

Self Help Book Summaries is the name if the app I tumbled upon recently on the Android app store while searching for apps related to self improvement. I've already finished reading summaries of 4 books and I find it to be very effective. It contains some of the most popular books.

List of Books contained in it:

  1. "Antifragile: Things that Gain from Disorder" by Nassim Nicholas Taleb
  2. "Ego is the enemy" by Ryan Holiday
  3. "Give and Take: Why Helping Others Drives Our Success" by Adam M. Grant
  4. "How to Stop Worrying and Start Living" by Dale Carnegie
  5. "How to Win Friends and Influence People" by Dale Carnegie
  6. "Mastery" by Robert Greene
  7. "Rich Dad Poor Dad" by Robert T. Kiyosaki
  8. "Secrets of the Millionaire Mind" by T. Harv Eker
  9. "Start with Why" by Simon Sinek
  10. "The 100$ Startup" by Chris Guillebeau
  11. "The 33 Strategies of War" by Robert Greene
  12. "The 4-Hour Workweek" by Timothy Ferriss
  13. "The 48 Laws of Power" by Robert Greene
  14. "The 6 Pillars of Self-Esteem" by Nathaniel Branden
  15. "The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People" by Stephen R Covey
  16. "The Four Agreements" by Don Miguel Ruiz
  17. "The Obstacle is the Way" by Ryan Holiday
  18. "The Power of Habit" by Charles Duhigg
  19. "The Subtle Art of Not Giving a Fuck" by Mark Manson
  20. "Think and Grow Rich" by Napoleon Hill
  21. "Think Fast and Slow" by Daniel Kahneman
  22. "With Winning in Mind" by Lanny Bassham

They have 22 books currently and keep updating new books every two weeks.

Features:

  • As soon as you open the app, you are shown a New Quote every day. You need internet connection to open the app for this reason. Once you open it, you don't need net anymore.
  • You can toggle font size between small, medium and large.
  • You can toggle between Day Theme and Night Theme.

The Downsides:

It displays an advertisement every time you change the page. However, here's a hack to solve it. Once you open the app, turn off the internet connection. The app will work just fine and won't display the ads.

I found it useful and I'm sure this will help you out in self improvement and save some time too.

Cheers!

Sort:

I use Blinkist, one free book every day, both in written + audio.

I'll check it out.

That sounds like an awesome idea. Everyday we could finish a book haha!
But the books are randomly given though, right?

Yes, for that we have to buy the subscription.

Wow. Great list. I like reading hard copies. I will buy some of them.

Yeah! I prefer hard copy too! Here's one more book you can add to your list. "The Magic of Thinking Big" by David J Schwartz. It has the power to change your life for the good if you apply everything that's in it.

Thanks a lot for sharing, you can also try Good Reads as well

Thanks, I'll check that out!
