The Unrelatable Pretence of Cute Girls

That Ekon guy was really butthurt about my video regarding his video about cute girls doing absolutely nothing of significance. Ηe was constantly crying about the way I changed the meaning of what he was saying, so instead of making fun of his silly obsession with cute girls, I will now make fun of his delusions. And it’s all his fault.

So here is the real reason I dislike these shows and anyone overanalyzing them. Aside from how you are making up symbolism of any kind to make them sound smarter than they are, you are also completely delusional to what they are doing exactly with those damn cute girls. Fighting shonen are targeted at teenage boys. Their protagonists are teenage boys. Shojo romances are targeted at teenage girls. Their protagonists are teenage girls. Isekai and shows about being trapped in videogames are targeted at otakus and gamers. Their protagonists are otakus and gamers.

These pretentious Iyashikei shows are targeted at middle age men suffering from anxiety and depression and yet their protagonists are underage cute girls. How can you identify with this? There is absolutely no relation between these two groups and yet millions find them relatable. And it’s even lamer when you know if the protagonists were middle age men suffering from anxiety and depression, the shows wouldn’t work. Because the people in the target group hate themselves and can’t identify with likeminded characters.

Not even when they are idealized, something the other shows are doing. You can have self-validating idiotic heroes who constantly use the power of friendship in fighting shonen, you can have naïve victimized girls in shojo being the target of everyone’s attention with their overbearing optimism, you can have otakus and gamers magically being unstoppable when taken to magical worlds or inside videogames. You can’t do that with middle age men suffering from anxiety and depression.

You cannot make a Gary Stu out of this kind of people, because they are defined by nothing more than negative emotions. There is a reason light novels often come off as sadistic and misanthropic. Their heroes are usually based on the depressed negative emotions of their authors, and as such they do any sick fetish imaginable, usually excused by having sadistic one-dimensional evil rapist villains, who are even worse by comparison. That’s the only way the heroes come off as just; by going against the most exaggerated type of bad guys.

So the middle age men suffering from anxiety and depression just mask the problem by watching cute girls doing cute things that somehow resemble what they wish they should be doing. And despite all the healing and motivational aspects they constantly overpraise these shows with, the main problem is always the same. These cute girls have no reason to be doing these activities. Why are they going on camping when they have carefree lives? They are not working in stressful jobs, they are not constantly worrying about paying the bills, or being nice to their superiors so they won’t lose their jobs. Why do they need to relax by camping when there is absolutely no reason for it?

That idiot Ekon doesn’t get that, and even goes as far as calling Yuru Camp a subversion because unlike typical Iyashikei there are conflicts in this anime which the girls need to surpass. And he doesn’t even realize those conflicts are self-inflicted. Nobody’s forcing these cute girls to spend hours in setting up a tent or preparing a bonfire. Every single problem they encounter is something they cause to themselves for the sake of having something to do. This is essentially masochism, and there is no psychological excuse behind it, since none of the girls have something fucked up in their lives to need this sort of sickening self-inflicted fetish as a coping mechanism.

And if you are thinking I am nitpicking what is essentially a dumb show that you watch and forget in a week, I am not the one who praises it as a subversion. In fact, I don’t give a shit about it. It’s those thousands of idiots out there who are overthinking these throwaway series and constantly try to make them sound like masterpieces. And now Ekon, you are free to beg for my forgiveness for the dumb thing you did. Only to never get it, because I’m having fun with your stupidity. Subversive deconstructive cute girls doing absolutely nothing.
