Twelve Days of Fantasy and Ash (Christmas Special Part 7)

Episode seven starts with the men from the previous episode explaining how losing her friends changed Mary. Then they straight-up give them a lesson on how to appreciate the friends they have, knowing their time together could be short. Ranta doesn't feel they have to be so accommodating towards Mary without an assurance of a return on investment. The team decides they need to try to be nice to her in hopes that she will reciprocate of her own volition. Ranta felt left out after due to never being taken seriously. While it may be a good point, Ranta should know that his personality is not one that can be taken seriously by rational people.

The team goes out hunting the next day in the rain, but they find no good targets. Ranta suggests they all head back, but Haruhiro tries to confront Mary to get along with her better, but everyone acts strange trying to judge how to approach her. This makes her afraid they will kick her out of the party. Instead, Haruhiro tells her the story of Manato and reassures her that he wants them all to be friends.

The team proceeds to go goblin hunting every day, honing their skills, and thinning the numbers in the ruins. They hunt there so much that their team gets recognized in the tavern by a new, yet familiar name. The team buys Moguzo a new helmet, and their relationship with Mary slowly improves. They spend their time on new skills and money on new equipment, training slowly and carefully. The appeal of this episode is somewhat hard to analyze. It is better to watch and experience the story firsthand.
