The Green Shieldbug 🛡
Insect Photography : Green Shield 🛡 Bug
I found this little shiny bug at my little garden this morning while I was watering the flowers 🌸. In my country, this kind of bug is known "wallang sengit". Its not harmful for the plants. But its very bad smell if we touch it.
This is a Green Shieldbug, Palomena prasina. This bug is easy to identify as its wing membranes are dark and a little green on its bottom.
The Green Shieldbug color is bright green, with yellowish-red legs and antennaes. The Shield bugs develop from nymphs in several stages that lack wings and might little diffrent from the adult.
The Green Shield bug has five such instars. The adult overwinters, and before doing so, it acquires a darker, purplish colour. After overwintering, they turn bright green again.
This bug is harmless for the plants, so for any gardeners, you dont have to find any pest chemicals control for this kind of bug.
Thanks for dropping by, hope it will be useful for the gardeners.
