starfish
Sea stars are invertebrate invertebrates that live in the ocean with poster bodies resembling stars or having five arms. Sea stars include Echinoderms phylum and Asteroidea class. Although invertebrates, but the starfish has a framework that serves as self-protection.
Sea stars have dorsal plates with holes and ring channels that have branches to five legs or commonly called radial channels. Under the arm of the starfish there is a deep groove that starts from the mouth to the end of the arm.
The starfish has an autotomy capability like a lizard, so when one arm breaks off, it will be able to body back. Severance of the arm serves to protect itself from marine predators. This arm growth process usually lasts about a year.
Ecologically, starfish enter in certain coral reef ecosystems, detritus and predator eaters. Sea star habitats are usually located in the seagrass and seaweed areas
