Babies!

Over the last month I've been posting about the Humming Bird nest that is in a rhododendron tree in my yard. I've taken a few photographs of momma bird tending to the eggs and over this last week they have hatched.

I have been very careful not to disturb the nest or the mother bird in fear she may leave the nest and no come back. I've bee shooting with a longer lens to allow me to stay away but still capture some images.

The pair of baby birds are so tiny, smaller than a dime. The mother bird is continually feeding them and hovering around the nest. It so cool to see the progression of life so far and I'm so excited to watch the birds grow up and take their first flight.

This was the last image I captures of the mother a few days before the eggs hatched.

Thanks for reading and have a great Monday everyone.

Beautiful work
Truly creative
Capturing the very best of nature

Positively stunning! How were you able to capture that? Like sort of equipment allowed you to see this Mama Bird and her hatchlings? Were they close to your home?

I only ask because it's very difficult for me to shoot photos of humming birds here, their so tiny! They fly too fast!
