Swallows - The pre-flight routine [Original Photography]

Hey guys

For the last few years, we have had swallows nesting in our outbuildings and this year is no different. I have tried in vain to get a photo of these guys in flight - they are just far too quick. However, I managed to catch this lovely portrait of them this morning while they were getting ready to take wing for the day. These birds spend pretty much all of the day flying around and collecting for their nests. It's quite amazing to watch. Maybe one day I will get that photo that I so much desire but for now, this will have to do.

          I’m not so sure the flight image will be as captivating as this one but I’m looking forward to the challenge!
