Waterbirds at the coast
Even if i visit the Lake Neusiedler several times a year, still the best time for bird photography is spring. Because in the mating season you can hear the birds singing and is it a lot easier to find them. They also show their beauty more often because they are looking for a potential partner in this time of the year. That is why i am already looking forward to next spring where i can take some new pictures of some beautiful birds. There are still a lot of different birds i still want to take some pictures of, and therefore spring is the best time.
Waterbirds like these in following pictures can be found nearly all over the warm time (spring, summer, autumn) there. And if you know the places where they can be found and it is not that difficult to take a picture of them with a decent lens. The Black Tailed Godwit is already a very seldom bird and there is only one place where you can find it in Austria and this is at Lake Neusiedl.

Most of the birds are still fleeing when they see a human aproaching too close, so you need to let them get used to you over a period of several minutes and sometimes even hours to get close enough. On some places it is possible to take some pictures out of the car window, and this helps pretty much because they are not that much afraid of a car than of a human beeing.
