Koi fish is a benign version of common carp that has a beautiful body. And there is a koi fish named Hanako that can live up to 226 years.

Hanako was a beautiful female koi fish in Japan. Her name Hanako is translated “flower girl” in Japanese.

She was born in 1751 and died on July 7, 1977. At the age of 226 years. The owner is Dr. Komei Koshihara, President of Women's College, a school for women in Nagoya Japan.

Koshihara San tells that Hanako is very tame and really friendly. Even if he called her, "Hanako! Hanako! "She would come over to get stroked. Sometimes Hanako lifted her out of the pool, put in a container for a closer look.
