-"That's really all that he wants to do," Ros-Lehtinen told CBSN's Tanya Rivero. "He doesn't care about killing innocent people. He doesn't care about the disappeared. He doesn't care about the detained individuals. He just wants to stay in power. And his wife? She's the vice president, so this is some kind of dynamic duo of torture and killing."

-Government-allied forces dislodged students camped out at the National Autonomous University of Nicaragua and reclaimed the symbolically important neighborhood of Monimbo, a stronghold of the 1979 revolution located in the city of Masaya, southeast of the capital.

-Nicaragua's president says he will not consider stepping down to restore peace to his country. In a recorded interview with Fox News, President Daniel Ortega denies he controls paramilitary groups blamed for most of the killing. He says they are supported by his political opponents and foreign interests.

Police and paramilitary groups are accused of killing more than 300 people since April. Thursday will mark 100 days of turmoil in the country since protests began over plans to cut welfare benefits.

Ortega has governed Nicaragua for 22 of the last 39 years, increasingly amassing more wealth and power, critics say.

In the interview, Ortega explained that he and his wife wouldn't step down before elections in 2021. And then, he said, "We'll have to see who will be voted in."

Thank you for passing the word. It is something I can no longer do freely. Remember that the mainstream media is not on the ground. You fill in the blanks...

With a government using military against a population that has been denied formal firearms, I am sure the blanks are many.

The thoughts of mass graves not being reported is a disturbing concept, but one that too often occurs in these situations.

I know you can't say much, and would prefer you stay safe in your communications.

Thanks for understanding. Some people don't. I appreciate what you are doing. I hate being stifled.

My greatest hope is for you and your family to stay safe and be whole on the other side of this.

Sorry Sister! Please stay safe!

We will keep ourselves safe! Thanks.

Praying for you Sister! GOD has placed Angels round about your compound, with flaming swords; to protect you all! :)

It is sad that it has come down to this! Good people being murdered, so that this scum vermin can steal more! This is an EVIL man, and needs to be removed, NOW! >:(

Crowdfunding an assassination sniper attempt would make these guys think twice about how they treat the people.

If I had to wager on it, I would say by the time the people of Nicaragua are done with Ortega, he and his partner will be pleading for a bullet.

I just really hope they have no restrictions/permits/registries to obtain rifles next time, and maybe avoid standing armys a little better.

Thanks for helping to pass along what is going on!

Happy to pass it along, many thanks for the resteem

Thank you for posting this. I was going to look up the interview. Now I understand even Fox News is not to be believed. The fact they interviewed Ortega, making him appear credible is a serious mistake. Makes me question Fox’s motive. I just hope no one believed his lies. 🐓🐓

A lot of folks don't realize Fox news is based in Rockefeller Center in NYC.

I sure take their broadcasts with a boulder sized grain of skepticism.

The truth probably won't fully come out until he is knocked off his throne. There is plenty of power players that will attempt to cover up their help in the matter also.

Many thanks for the resteem.

I never watch the news any more, just listen to the radio. When I heard about the interview and how Ortega sold himself to be a good guy it sent me over the edge. 🐓🐓
