8월 1일 비트코인 하드포크 (UAHF) 관련 안내
안녕하세요, 코인원입니다.

비트코인 블록 사이즈를 조정하기 위한 방안(Bitcoin ABC)에 따른 비트코인 하드포크가 8월 1일 예정되어 있으며, 이에 대한 코인원의 정책을 안내드립니다.

(*하드포크(Hard-Fork) : 기존 블록체인의 기능 개선, 오류 정정, 문제점 수정 등을 목적으로 블록체인을 기존의 블록체인과는 호환이 되지 않는 새로운 블록체인으로 변경하는 것)

먼저 오는 8월 1일 하드포크가 진행되면 비트코인 블록체인은 기존 비트코인 블록체인과 Bitcoin ABC의 새로운 블록체인 2종류로 분리 됩니다. 그리고 새롭게 생성된 Bitcoin ABC 블록체인은 기존 비트코인 블록체인에서 사용하는 BTC가 아닌 BCC(Bitcoin Cash)라는 새로운 가상화폐를 이용합니다.

이번 하드포크는 기존 비트코인 블록체인과는 별개로 진행됨에 따라 기존의 비트코인은 아무런 변동사항 없이 그대로 유지되며, 하드포크 이후 Bitcoin ABC 블록체인과 BCC만이 새롭게 탄생합니다.

그리고 현재 Bitcoin ABC의 가상화폐인 BCC를 인정하고 거래소에 상장하는 것에는 시장참여자들 사이에 논쟁이 발생하고 있으며, 그 이유는 BCC와 관련한 몇가지 유의사항이 존재하기 때문입니다.

현재 BCC와 관련하여 논의중인 유의사항은 다음과 같습니다.

1. BCC의 가치 불안정성: 가상화폐는 채굴(Mining)등에 의한 '네트워크 유지'와 가상화폐에 대한 '시장의 수요'가 존재해야만 그 가치를 유지할 수 있습니다. 하지만 Bitcoin ABC와 BCC는 아직 대다수의 시장참여자들로부터 지지를 확보한 상황이 아니며, 그에따라 BCC의 가치가 '0'에 수렴할 가능성이 존재합니다.

1. BCC의 블록체인 생태계 교란: Bitcoin ABC와 BCC는 '대다수의 시장참여자'가 아닌 '특정의 시장참여자'에 의해 진행되고 있으며, 그 결과는 '비트코인의 업그레이드'가 아닌 기존 비트코인과는 별개의 'BCC라는 새로운 비트코인의 탄생'입니다. 비트코인의 업그레이드를 위해 하드포크로 새로운 블록체인을 만들수는 있으나, BCC와 같이 하드포크로 인해 매번 새롭게 생성되는 가상화폐를 시장참여자들이 아무런 검토 없이 인정한다면 비트코인은 수많은 코인으로 분화되어 결국 시장에서 그 신뢰도를 잃고 생태계가 무너질 가능성이 존재합니다.

이에 코인원은 글로벌 가상화폐 거래소로써 섣부른 BCC의 인정과 상장은 향후 BCC의 가치상실, 또는 비트코인의 신뢰도 하락에 의한 가상화폐 생태계 붕괴로 회원님들과 가상화폐 시장 전반에 피해를 야기할 수 있을 것이라 판단했습니다.

따라서 코인원은 BCC의 공식적인 지원여부에 대하여는 아직 결정된 바가 없으며, 향후 BCC가 가진 기술적인 이슈 및 비트코인 생태계 현황 등을 종합적으로 고려하여 지원여부를 결정할 것을 알려드립니다.

*8월 1일 하드포크 이후 즉시 BCC를 거래하길 원하시는 회원님들께서는 보유하고 계시는 BTC를 입출금 중단시점인 7월 28일 오후 6시 이전에 출금하실 것을 권장드립니다.

최근 BCC를 공식적으로 지원 및 상장할 것을 발표한 거래소들이 다수 존재합니다.
하지만 BCC를 충분한 가치를 지닌 가상화폐로 인정할 것은 앞선 유의사항과 같이 신중하게 검토해야할 사안입니다.

코인원은 회원 유입, 거래량 증가 등 BCC를 상장하여 얻을 수 있는 수익적인 측면보다는 '분권화'라는 블록체인의 취지에 맞게 가상화폐 생태계가 안정적이고 올바른 방향으로 성장하는데 기여하고자 이와 같은 대응정책을 마련했습니다.

앞으로도 하드포크와 세그윗 등 가상화폐 생태계를 둘러싼 이슈들에 대해 실시간으로 올바르게 대응할 것을 약속드리며, 가상화폐 시장 안정성 제고와 함께 회원님들의 자산 안전을 최우선으로 하는 코인원이 되겠습니다.

About Bitcoin hard fork (UAHF) on August 1st
Dear Coinone members,

We would like to inform you of the our policy about the Bitcoin hard fork to adjust block size (Bitcoin ABC) on August 1st.

(* Hard fork: Changing a blockchain from the existing blockchain for the purpose of Bitcoin improvement or error correction, not ensuring backward compatibility with the existing blockchain)

First, the Bitcoin blockchain will be divided into two blockchains, existing Bitcoin blockchain and new blockchain of Bitcoin ABC, when the hard fork is occurred on August 1st. Then, the new blockchain will use new cryptocurrency called BCC (Bitcoin Cash), not BTC in the existing blockchain.

The hard fork at this time will maintain the existing Bitcoin blockchain without any change, and the Bitcoin ABC blockchain and BCC are newly occurred.

There are several arguments accepting BCC of Bitcoin ABC between market participants for the reason is that there are several matters to be attended to BCC.

The matters with BCC are the following.

1. Value instability: Cryptocurrencies could maintain their value only if there are market demands of cryptocurrencies and network maintain (e.g. by mining cryptocurrencies). However, Bitcoin ABC and BCC have not gotten sufficient support from market participants until now, then, there is a possible situation that the value of BCC could be converged to zero.

1. Blockchain ecosystem disturbance: Bitcoin ABC and BCC are worked by “specific market participants”, not “Most participants”, and the result is “generation of new Bitcoin”, not “Existing Bitcoin upgrade”. It is possible to make a new blockchain to upgrade existing Bitcoin. But if market participants always accept newly generated cryptocurrencies due to hard fork like BCC, Bitcoin will be divided into a lot of coins, and then there is possibility that the Bitcoin ecosystem will be collapsed, losing reliability of Bitcoin.

For the reasons, Coinone as a global cryptocurrency exchange decided that rash approval and listing BCC may cause possible damage on all cryptocurrency markets and Coinone members due to Cryptocurrency ecosystem collapse of loss in BCC value and reliability of BItcoin from now on.

Therefore, Coinone have not decided yet official support for BCC and will inform you whether we support BCC after considering its technical issue and Bitcoin ecosystem present.

• If you want to trade immediately after the hard fork on August 1st, we recommend to withdraw your BTC until 6pm, July 28th.

Recently, there are a number of exchanges which officially support and list BCC. However, it should be carefully considered accepting BCC with sufficient value.
