My paper-note collection
I'm an old fashion guy that I like to use paper money and coins when spending money. Using smart cards, credit card or even cryptocurrency, it reduces the "painful" feeling when you give out money. By clicking a button, tapping your card and the amount of money has gone. Money itself is just a number when you see it on the screen.
But when you withdraw it into cash. It means something. Holding a coin into your hand. You can feel the warm of your body temperature. Below are some of my collections:
Thailand 60 Baht P93 1987 issue extra LARGE size colourful odd denomination COMMEMORATIVE banknote in UNC condition issued on the occasion of King's 60th. birthday, bearing the picture of King Rama IX seated in throne and Royal family seated w/subjects Thai King and Queen at back. Issued in limited quantity.
The new $5 banknote retains the portrait of Queen Elizabeth II, which is drawn from the same source photograph represented on the first polymer $5 banknote. The banknote also depicts New Parliament House and the Forecourt Mosaic, which is based on a Central Desert dot-style painting by Michael Nelson Jagamara titled ‘Possum and Wallaby Dreaming’ and a schematic plan of the New Parliament House.
This was based on the Design Development Landscape Plan, which was provided by the Parliament House Construction Authority.
The 2000 Yen note (二千円紙幣 Nisen-en shihei) was issued July 19, 2000, to commemorate the 26th G8 Summit and the millennium. It is not a commemorative banknote but a regular series in Japanese law. Known as the D Series, it was the only 2,000 Yen note design ever to be printed. The design was similar of that of the other Japanese notes in circulation at the time of issue.
The obverse has a serial number and depicts Shureimon, a 16th-century gate at Shuri Castle in Naha, in Okinawa Prefecture, Japan. Cherry blossom and chrysanthemum motifs are part of the linear design work in the background.
The reverse side depicts a scene from The Tale of Genji, and a portrait of Murasaki Shikibu, the noblewoman to whom this work of classic literature has been attributed. A copy of a portion of script from the original work is included.
2017 marks the 200th anniversary of Jane Austen's death. To celebrate such an inspirational female figure, the Royal Mint and the Bank of England have chosen to honour her on a brand new £2 coin and £10 banknote.
If you are a numismatic collector, please share your collection to me! I would love to see!
