Shame On You

I saw a story on line and felt like sharing it here. It's about a guy called Mr. Jarfa. He is from Kaduna state in Nigeria and he often accuse his governor Mr. El Rufai of being corrupt. The governor decided to invite him to the State house one day and told him to use Kekenapep which is a means of transportation here in Nigeria while coming to the state house. The governor promise to pay the bill.

On arriving, the governor gave him two hundred thousand naria to pay the driver and tell him to go. The amount was outrageous but the governor said it will serve as a remembrance to the driver, the day he drove to the state houses. Unknown to Mr. Jarfa, the governor placed an order with his securities to bring the drive back to the meeting hall.

The governor deliberately asked Mr Jarfa how much he gave to the driver and what was his reaction to such outrageous money. Mr Jarfa said he gave the man the whole money and he was dazed. The driver was then brought into the meeting room and was asked by the governor how much he was given, the drive replied, two thousand naria. The governor smiled and expressed his disappointment over Mr Jarfa's worse attitude of keeping one hundred and ninety eight thousand to himself. He further said and showed Mr Jarfa the key of a brand new utility car which he intended to give to him and how he looked forward to working with him but as it stands, he should just take the money he have with him and leave his office.

The story reminded me of a blessing in disguises.
