Synopsis

Hirasawa Yui, a young, carefree girl entering high school, has her imagination instantly captured when she sees a poster advertising the "Light Music Club." Being the carefree girl that she is, she quickly signs up; however, Yui has a problem, she is unable to play an instrument.

When Yui goes to the clubroom to explain, she's greeted by the other members: Ritsu, Mio, and Tsumugi. Although disheartened at Yui's lack of musical know-how, they still try to convince her to stay to prevent the club's disbandment. After playing Yui a short piece which re-ignites her imagination, they succeed in keeping their new member and guitarist.

Along with the tasks of school and homework, Yui begins to learn the guitar with the help of the other band members, experiencing many mishaps along the way. However, with the school festival drawing near and Yui getting stuck with her practice, will the Light Music Club be ready in time for their debut?

Review

Very light and refreshing!

This anime has two seasons and two movies, aside from the 4-panel manga. Each characters have their own unique characteristics that are never boring. They have Ritsu who is very energetic and noisy who also happens to be their president. She loves to tease Mio. Mio, on the other hand, is a very shy girl and a scaredy-cat. She's easily scared to the very simple matters like barnacles, etc. Another one is Mugi (as they call her). She's a rich young lady who likes anything commonly normal. She also loves serving others with her cakes and tea. And then they have Azusa (Azunyan as Yui calls her) who is their junior and the most normal among them. She always motivates everyone to practice. Lastly, they have Yui. She is a very lazy but very cute girl. Once focused, she couldn't see anything else. She's a first rate air-head!

I love this series very much. They're funny and very cute. Every episode has its own charm. However, what I love the most is their performance during a live concert. Given their behavior in the club room, when they perform they are good, surprisingly (as Azusa noticed). I love everyone's relationship with each other even though most of them just met in their high school.

Another thing I love is their songs! They have very cute songs. One of my favorites are Tenshi ni Fureta yo, Honey Sweet Tea Time, Watashi no Koi wa Hocchikisu, Pure Pure Heart, and U&I.

P.S: You can listen to the song they composed for Azusa below. ^^
