Blogging is not just about writing articles on your blog and share your thoughts with the world. It’s a huge fields and some of them are Event Blogging and Viral Blogging which are most famous. Unlike writing blog posts on particular niche or topic sometimes it’s good to write on event because it’s lot easier to rank high on Google. You may be thinking how much I can earn and my answer to your question is that it depends on various factors but normally you can make $1000 – $10,000 per event. What’s important is that you will plan it right from beginning like on page and off page seo etc.
What is Event Blogging?

Blogs that are specially designed and created by bloggers to rank on first page of any search engine for any particular event of an year. The main purpose here is to get targeted traffic so that you have to put content and materiel only related to your niche/topic.

Event Blogging Benefits

Good thing is that you don’t have to work on your blog whole year in-fact mostly people start their blogs three to six months before the event start. Traffic will remain only for few days(may be couple of days) and after that your blog may be totally dead. You earn huge amount of money in couple of days which many other bloggers dream whole year.

People earn as much as $10k per day which is freaking awesome because your investment is nothing compare to the profit. Some people don’t like to work whole year and they want income which they can spend easy 365 days. So they way of work suites best for them as they can work on special occasions and rest or travel remaining part of the year.

Down Sides of Event Blogging

One of the biggest draw backs is that you need high quality dedicated server in order to handle all traffic. Obviously for this you need to invest money first because dedicated servers are not cheap but you can go for hosting service which provides you service on demand.

So as the traffic increases your package will also increases dynamically which means it will handle the traffic on the go. Also you need to remain online all the time until event ends because if some thing goes wrong(server down, any script issue, plugin or theme issue,) in between event you will lose all your effort and hence money.

How to Choose an Event

Before choosing any event you should first research about it’s monthly searches and low competitors. Use Tools like Google Keyword Planner, KeywordTool to find related keywords about your event. Also after choosing an event you should know more about it learning different topics about it.

Timing is also very important because if you start your blog way too early like 5 to 6 months earlier than Google may not rank your site. Starting blog one to two months before the event is the perfect time and it also depends on your abilities how early you rank it on search engines.

Some of you might be thinking why I added events that are related to some particular areas of the world like Diwali, Eid, Christmas, IPL (Indian Premier League), Elections, Exam Results. The reason is that it’s a myth that only worldwide event will bring more traffic. In-fact local events are much more easier to target and will bring you more traffic eventually.

It’s Time for Keyword Research

Now that you have decided which event you want to work on it’s time for keyword research. You don’t need to find high traffic keywords with high competition. Just go for long tail keywords and for this I will recommend you Google Keyword Planner, Keyword Tool and last but not least Long Tail Pro.

Register Domain Name

Once you have chosen the main keyword which has most searches it’s time to register the exacted matched domain. You can search domain name in search bar of any web-host like Godaddy, NameCheap etc. Sometimes you desire domain will not be available so try to mix it with other keywords or put “-(hyphen)” in between. Sometimes dot com domain will also not available so only try with dot info, dot US and dot biz extensions.

Buy Hosting

If you are newbie and don’t want to invest money in hosting than blogger.com is best platform for you. Just create new blog via any Gmail account, upload template, and attach your blog to your domain name. It’s that much easy and your site will be online no matter how much traffic you got.

On the other hand if you are little bit experienced than my suggestion is to buy your own hosting from Hostgator, Godaddy or Bluehost. It will cost you some money but eventually you will not regret your decision.

Install WordPress

Now install WordPress with the help of Quick Install located in your cPanel. Choose any free theme you like and upload it. Set the name servers of your domain to your hosting server and that’s it.

Content is King

Now come to the main part of any blog and that is content. Some people will say you that write short low quality articles and some will say write more than 3000 words post. In my view words count does not matter as long as you are providing solutions to people questions.

Google is not a kid any more and you cannot bypass it ranking factors just by writing 3000 words article. Although it’s lot easier to rank event blog but still if people are leaving your site too early without doing any thing like posting comment, social media share etc Google will know that this site is not worth having in the top spot.

Stay away from Keyword Stuffing

You need to make sure that you put your main keywords in Title, Description, Headings and Sub-Headings but stay away from keyword stuffing. Also include long tail keywords closely related to your main key-word as it will help you get organic traffic quickly.

The thing is that when search engines will start sending you traffic they will monitor the each and every activity on your site. They will record how much time they spend, your blog bounce rate and will key found their solution or they just hit the back button in browser.

A Picture is worth Thousand Words

Include as many images you can but be sure to add photos that are related to your topic. Also include images that are not copyright and unique as it will dramatically improve the search traffic.

Team Work is Important

Not only in event blogging but in SEO if you are alone you can do nothing or very little stuff. Build a team of people who are close to you so that you can share precious tricks with them.

Sometimes it’s good to do black hat SEO(Google doesn’t recommend it) as it will produce results quickly but this is all you need because your blog will not be active whole year. Your need traffic for only one or two days.

Search Engine Optimization(SEO)

This is the most important part of any blogging because if you have a great website but world doesn’t know about it than it’s useless. In order to attract organic traffic first you need to bring traffic from social media so that you can see what people think about your site.

On Page SEO

Things you do on your blog in order to modify is for search engines is called On Page SEO. Also make sure that all code on your pages is 100% correct and page speed of your blog is above 90%.

Before doing any thing make sure you have done On Page SEO which includes Page Titles, Body Tags, at least three heading (H1, H2 and H3), Keyword Density(1 keyword per 200 words), Alt and Title attribute in Images, Meta Description, Meta Titles, Internal Linking etc.

Off Page SEO

The main part in Off Page SEO is link building and it can be done via many way including white hat SEO and black Hat SEO.

Link Building(White Hat SEO)

Building links via Guest blogging, Commenting on blogs related to your niche, Directory Submission, DMOZ Directory etc are considered to be legal way. The only problem is that it will take long time and sometimes not useless in event blogging(because you don’t have enough time).

Link Building(Black Hat SEO)

Now come to the other side of SEO and that is considered as illegal and against the Google Quality Guidelines. Creating links via Private Blog Networks(PBN), Content Automation, Doorway Pages, Hidden Text or Links, Sneaky Redirects, Cloaking, Link Schemes etc are considered as Black Hat SEO.

Create Private Blog Network

Google from time to time ban many Private Blog Networks but still it’s the most effective way of getting organic traffic fast. The concept is that you have to create a small network(at least 50 blogs) created on different IP addresses. You can begin with expired domain names with high DA and PR but keep in mind that blog should no be banned by Google.

Of course for different IP addresses you need to buy different hosting for all domains which may cost you $50 to $100 per month but it’s worth it. Also many PBN hosting providers give you facility to host domains on different IP. After that post unique articles every week with at least 1000 words on each blog.

Don’t be greedy here and only get two links from each blog. Don’t put same anchor text and each and every link, vary it and try to put long tail keywords in it. Spun content also work in this scenario but if you hire someone for this job than it’s best for you.

Monetize Your Website

It’s time to setup your blog or website for different kinds of affiliate networks and Google Adsense. For affiliate links you need to join the CPA networks so that you can promote product closely related to your blog niche.
Sometimes it’s not easy to join affiliate networks so you can join Amazon and ClickBank anytime. The way it works is that you need to signup for an account and than find product related to your blog. Find it’s referral link and put it on your blog where people can see it. Now when even some one will click on it and buy something from these sites you will get paid.

For contextual ads you can join Google Adsense but if you don’t have it’s account than you can also go for Infolinks and Media.net accounts. But if you want to maximum your earning than Adsense account is must. For high CTR you should go for theme which is highly optimized for Adsense. Also make sure ti out your ads on main spot of your blog like where people will look the most. This way not only the CTR will increase but page impression will also increase.

Conclusion:

If you follow all my steps as I mentioned above than you can easily earn from $1000 to $10K from one event. Don’t believe on me well read this inspiration story of M Tanveer Nandla who earned Half Million Rupees in 24 Hours. So if don’t succeed in first time don’t disappoint and all your knowledge will help you in your next event blogging project. In online world only those people success who experiment all the time not people who want results in no time.
