Daily Celestial Challenge- Sunday: light (What does it mean that God is light?)

John 1: 5 says "God is light." Light is a common metaphor in the Bible. Proverbs 4:18 symbolizes justice as "the light of dawn". Philippians 2:15 compares the children of God who are "blameless and pure" with the stars in the firmament. Jesus used light as a description of good works: "Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works" (Matthew 5:16). Psalm 76: 4 says of God: "You are surrounded by splendor."

Hello brothers in today's challenge I am going to talk about a question. The meaning of why God is Light; starting because God is our creator, and all the works made by him illuminate our life and all the bad works have been associated with sin and darkness.

The fact that God is light establishes a natural contrast with darkness. If light is a metaphor for justice and goodness, then darkness symbolizes evil and sin.

The message is that God is without reservation, completely and absolutely holy, without a mixture of sin, without contamination of iniquity and without any indication of injustice.

God is light, and so is his Son. Jesus said, "I am the light of the world, he who follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life" (John 8:12).

God is light and his plan is for believers to shine their light, becoming more like Christ every day. "For you are all children of light and children of the day, we are not of the night nor of darkness" (1 Thessalonians 5: 5). God is the creator of physical light, as well as the giver of spiritual light, by means of which we can see the truth. The light exposes what is hidden in the darkness; It shows things as they really are. Walking in the light means knowing God, understanding the truth and living in justice.

Christians can not sit idly by and watch others follow in the darkness of sin, knowing that those who are in darkness are destined to eternal separation from God. The light of the world wants to dispel the darkness and spill its wisdom everywhere.

Jesus, the Son of God without sin, is "the true light" (John 1: 9). As adopted children of God, we must reflect their light in a world darkened by sin. Our objective in witnessing to the unsaved is to "open their eyes, that they may turn from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God" (Acts 26:18).

Believers in Christ must confess any darkness within themselves - their sins and transgressions - and let God shine their light through them.
