Padman:- The sanitary man of sacred land

This is the real story of Arunachalam Muruganantham born 1962, he is a social entrepreneur from Coimbatore Tamil Nadu India. He is invented low-cast sanitary pad making machine and is credit for innovating grassroots mechanisms for generating awareness about traditional unhygienic practices around menstruation in rural india. S. Arunachalam were hand loom weavers and he is grew up with poverty his father had died a road accident and his mother work a farm laborer to help his study. But his mini pad making sanitary machine have been installed 23 states of 29 of india and his planning to expand this machine 106 nation

In 1998 he married shanti and shortly divorced during periods his wife use papers as sanitary napkins made by multinationals corporations. Initially he made pad of Cotton's but there was rejected by his wife and sisters. Actually the womens were shy to use it. The cost of sanitary pad 40 times than 10 paisa ($.002) that time. He started testing it on himself, using a bladder with animal blood but became the subject of ridicule when the sanitary pad discovered in his village.

It took him two years to discovered that the commercial pads use cellulose fibres derived from pine bark wood pulp.
