Law Breaks get’s two Golden Joystick nomination lulwat?!
I almost choked on my coffee when I read this. A game with almost no player base whatsoever is getting nominated for a multiplayer and company of the year award. Obviously in reaction to the “millions” of people playing and enjoying it every month:
Let that sink in for a moment, a game with a peak average amount of just 76 players is competing with the likes of PUBG, Battlefield 1, Fifa 18 and Injustice 2. And I would be extremely surprised if it won either categories it was nominated in. Some other questionable nominations include the best performance:
Yes, Fryda Wolff got nominated for her rather than average middle of the road voice acting in Mass Effect Andromeda. Going up against the likes of Ashly Burch (Horizon: Zero Dawn), Melina Juergens (Senua, Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice) and Jack Brand (Jack Baker, Resident Evil 7). And best online video game streamers:
Yes, Polygon, the very same publication that could not even play DOOM properly and thought that it would be a good idea and upload to Youtube, and complained in multiple articles about Cuphead being too difficult. Not to mention dedicating an entire article on how to switch on a PlayStation 4. These are the “talented” people that are up for a nomination for popular streamers of the year. I have written about this previously about a year ago. Where I mentioned that these types of video game awards have turned into obvious “ego masturbation”, super-safe popularity picks, nonsensical categories, and shameless circle jerking. Pretty much turning into the gaming industry version of Hollywoods Oscars.
