No life on Mars! --- The Hidden Truth
Research by scientists from the University of Edinburgh in Scotland has shown that life on the surface of Mars is impossible because of the chemical compounds contained in its surface soil.
The surface of Mars contains perchlorate compounds, which are salts of chloric acid, and are toxic to organisms, according to the results published in Scientific Reports.
The researchers used perchlorate concentrations, similar to those found in Mars soil, and studied their effect on Bacillus subtilis bacteria, which are usually found on surfaces of spacecraft and equipment, and are a source of bioterrorism.
In the result of the experiment, it was found that the toxicity of these compounds to organisms increased with the presence of ultraviolet radiation, which led to the death of bacteria in minutes.
The researchers also pointed out that iron oxides and hydrogen peroxide, a substance that exists on the surface of the red planet, which raises the effect of perchlorates, and thus die bacteria 10.8 times faster.
Perchlorates were discovered on the surface of the Red Planet in 2008, when the Phoenix probe landed on Mars and analyzed its soil. At the time, it was found that the concentration of these compounds in the soil was 0.4-0.6%. These results were confirmed by the Kyorienti probe.
The scientists concluded that the combination of these compounds with ultraviolet radiation on the surface of Mars, prevents the existence of strange life on the surface of this planet.

No life as we know it if I may add ;)
One of the exciting things to me about the search for life is the fact that we only have a sample of 1 to base our assumptions on what it takes for life to emerge and evolve.
Of course we should still centre our search around the key factors we know were crucial here on earth, but I would not rule out the possibility of finding life in areas where Earthly life could not exist.
Fascinating topic though! Upvoting and Following you :)
I agree. The question is, how do you define other life-forms as 'life', while we only have our own type of life to compare it with.
I guess this is why exploration is so important. We must see new things in order to make up new definitions that actually describes the universe.
As Richard Feynman said: "Nature's imagination is so much greater than man's, that it is never going to let us relax".
We probably can't find out from an armchair here on Earth, but rather by going out and finding new phenomenon to observe :)
That's why I started studying biology. Even if we discovered everything there is, it constantly changes, so there are always new things to find!
Very true! I am an economist who work with space but got interested in science due to Evolutionary biology haha. So I'm with you 100%!
Given you a follow nd hope to have more exchanges like these :)
Thanks man, we will!
No life on Mars, It Is just a light not a terra firma place to sustain life or land on.
exquisite. . .
Is this photo on planet mars?
Are you joking? The photo Is obvious CGI like all space pictures.
