Virat Kohli tells Rohit Sharma the biggest factor in India’s win in South Africa

Centurion Rohit Sharma was the star of India’s victory against South Africa in the fifth ODI at Port Elizabeth on Tuesday. With the win, India registered their first-ever ODI series triumph in South Africa.

Sharma was later seen in a new role as he interviewed India captain Virat Kohli in a ‘quick selfie interview’ for the BCCI.tv. When Rohit asked Kohli about his feelings on winning a cricket series in South Africa after 25 years, the India skipper began by praising his interviewer before crediting the team’s collective effort for the achievement.
“It feels amazing. Rohit’s contribution was amazing. It’s wonderful to create a history after 25 years and everyone is really proud at the change room. It’s been a collective effort and something we wanted to do badly. So, brilliant, amazing,” Kohli said.

The Mumbai batsman then went on to probe Kohli further asking him to describe what went right for India in the series. Kohli, in response, praised the entire team but especially singled out efforts of bowlers including the spin duo of Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav and pace twin of Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Jasprit Bumrah.
“In every game, someone has put his hand up and performed. And the two young spinners, the way they have bowled. The way Bumrah and Bhuvi have shown experience, it’s amazing,” he said.

Sharma’s hundred helped India post 274/7. In reply, the hosts could muster only 201 with Kuldeep Yadav claiming a four-for. India now lead the six-match series 4-1 and will have an opportunity to make it 5-1 in Centurion on Friday.
