This a topic that can get people debating all day and night. Growing up this a statement we have heard over and over again, but as to whether it is true depends on the angle you want to look at it, and the school of taught you belong to.
Those Who Say it is BLIND.
Some belief that, love can make an individual blind in the sense that, the person cannot see the dangers and implications the person will facing when he or she falls in love with another. Others see their partners to be the most beautiful entity they can comprehend in the initial state. But as time unfolds they begin to see their partners with different lens and there they realised they were blind earlier not to have seen their partners well.
Those who under goes this ordeal are those that usually can't withstand their partners and usually opt for divorce.
Those Who Say It Is Not
To these people, a lover is to make decisions with the mind not the heart, there is no room for error. To them love is a life long activity and hence if one gets it wrong you are doomed. Therefore, the lover is expected to make calculated moves towards knowing your lover well, under study and investigate he or she if necessary before giving. These people believe with you having two eyes, love can never be blind.
My Opinion
Whether love is blind or not depends on the individual. When you meet someone you are crashing on, you can forget all theories you've come across. Then and there you have to make decisions about your future. You don't have to let someone determine how you live your life. To me both school of taught are important and can help the individual to make decisions concerning his or her love life. Combine both and you are good to go.
