Centurion Future (CNT) underwent a bifurcation in block 738,000 on November 22, 2017 after months of preparation. CNT Future replaced the X11 algorithm used by Centurion with Equihash during the bifurcation. The Equihash algorithm, made famous by the well-known Zcash and Bitcoin Gold cryptocurrencies, was developed in 2016 by the Cryptography Department of the University of Baltimore.

The miners who want to mine from home have been overtaken by large companies that use ASIC mining equipment to monopolize the PoW system. CNT Future prevents the centralization of mining by progressively penalizing the excessive use of energy in the Work Test protocol. CNT Future also promotes the Proof of Stake protocol by offering 5 levels of significant rewards for loyal users.
