Spain and England meet for the second time at this UEFA Nations League as they compete for third place in Russia.

The Red Devils were beaten by France before Croatia bettered the Three Lions after extra time to set up the Saturday showdown.

Belgium will likely provide England with one of their toughest challenges yet in Russia, but the Three Lions will be confident of reaching the final against France - especially with Croatia needing penalty shootouts to beat both Denmark and Russia to reach the final four.

England and Spain have met seven times before, with the Three Lions winning four times, losing twice and sharing a draw.

The two nations drew their opening encounter 0-0 in 1996 before England won the next friendly 3-1 in 2003.

England then won their first competitive clash, a 4-2 victory at Euro 2004 in which Wayne Rooney scored two goals.

But Croatia got their own back over the Euro 2008 qualifiers, beating England 2-0 in Zagreb - with Paul Robinson's infamous air kick a sore spot for England fans way back in October 2006.

Worse was to come as Croatia beat the Three Lions 3-2 at Wembley in November 2007 to ensure that England would not qualify for Euro 2008.

England gained some revenge as they crushed Croatia in their next two games, winning World Cup 2010 qualifying games in September 2008 (4-1) and September 2009 (5-1).

Possible Starting Lineup:
After an incredible couple of season’s Harry Kane has cemented his place in the team as a first choice striker and he will lead the forward line for England in World Cup 2018.

Delle Alli is expected to start in no.10 role with Raheem Sterling and Rashford playing on the wings.

Henderson and Eric Dier are expected to start in midfield while Kyle Walker and Danny Ross should start in full-back roles. John Stone (if fit) will start in central defense alongside either Garry Cahill or Phil Jones. Jack Butland is likely to start ahead of experience Joe Hart in goal.

Key Player: Harry Kane
Hard to look past Harry Kane who has been in absolute astonishing form over the last couple of years. He has been scoring goals for fun and now regarded as one of the best center forwards in the world.

However, he is part of a very fluid Spurs team and usually gets the number of chances every game. It will be interesting to see if he can carry his club form with England national side.

Team News

England have a good record against Belgium, winning 15 of their 21 meetings against the Red Devils. The two nations have met twice at World Cups, with a 4-4 draw in 1954 and a 1-0 win for the Three Lions in 1990.

It remains to be seen if Roberto Martinez opts to rotate his squad or stick with a first-choice XI but Thomas Meunier is available again after missing the semi-final loss to France.

Nacer Chadli was ineffective in the position on Tuesday, while Mousa Dembele failed to impress in only his second start of the tournament.

Gareth Southgate could also shuffle his pack after the disappointment of missing out on the final. The likes of Jamie Vardy, Gary Cahill and Ruben Loftus-Cheek could all come in.

Kieran Trippier was nursing a groin injury in the closing stages against Croatia so may well not be risked for what is effectively a dead rubber.

Predicted Line-ups

England XI: Pickford; Walker, Stones, Maguire; Trippier, Henderson, Alli, Lingard, Rose; Vardy, Rashford

Spain XI: Courtois, Alderweireld, Kompany, Boyata, Meunier, Fellaini, Witsel, Chadli, De Bruyne, Batshuayi, T.Hazard

Youngsters to watch out for: Rashford, Harry Winks, and Dele Alli
Delle Ali is a standout name who can lite up the world cup if he hits any kind of form. Harry Winks is another Spurs player who has been playing regularly with the Spurs team and if given a chance he is capable of being a regular with the national team.

Marcus Rashford is already an established Manchester United player and he will be the key to England’s chances in the world with his pace and trickery. Rashford complements Harry Kane’s style of play and if this two click, England might have a good chance of getting far in the world cup.

Possible England 23-Man Squad: Gareth Southgate is expected to announce England squad a day after 2017-18 premier league season is over. So we can expect final 23-man England squad to be announced on 15th May 2018.
