WATERMELON FRUIT OR VEGETABLE
«Fruits and vegetables are defined differently based on what you do whether a gardener or a chef. A lot of foods that are fruits which are savory rather than sweet are mostly considered as vegetables by chefs e. g tomatoes and eggplant.

A fruit bearing structure that develops in the ovary of a flowering plant while vegetables are all other plant part such as leaves, stem and roots.
Based on the above explanation, will you say that watermelon is a fruit or a vegetable?
Watermelon can be a fruit and a vegetable. You may ask why? Watermelon is a fruit because it grows from a seed and it has a sweet flavor and refreshing qualities. It can also be a vegetable because it is harvested and cleared from the field like other vegetables such as pumpkins, squash and cucumbers.
So it is clear now that watermelon is both a fruit and a vegetable.
We also have different species of watermelon that are good for our consumption.
To my opinion i think watermelon is a fruit.... lets take note here, there are some terms that made watermelon more like a fruit despite of the many claims by people, and so as other matters that made it called as vegetable. We might say that tomato really is a fruit, but in the case of watermelons, I think we all know what it really is after all these years.
First of all, you need to remember that vegetables are known to be parts of plants that are edible. This means that the very crop can be called as vegetable right away if you can actually eat the leaves or stem of the plant. On the other hand, fruits are what we call to those parts of the plant that contains the seeds and ovary of the actual plant. Therefore, since it’s an obvious fact that watermelons have countless seeds inside them, and the seeds are inside a big sphere that has a yummy, red or yellow flesh in it, then for sure you already know by now that it’s really a fruit. @nellyprecy
