These Are The Best (And Cheapest) Hacker Fares

in #travel6 years ago

Every budget traveler wants cheaper airfare. Less money on plane tickets means more money for hotels or maybe you can splurge for that amazing guided museum tour.

Enter so-called hacker fares, or one-way tickets that are paired to make a discounted roundtrip ticket.

Now, in general, one-way tickets come with a higher price tag. Although sometimes you can snag a good airfare deal, especially if it’s domestic, one-way flights usually cost extra because it is more difficult for an airline to plan around an open-ended, one-way flight.

Except for when it comes to hacker fares, or two one-way flights that are paired together to make a round trip ticket. Sometimes these tickets are less expensive than if you bought a standard round trip ticket. Three cheers for flight hacks.

Hacker fares are usually more difficult to book and can be confusing (look out for hidden bag fees!), but luckily for you, Kayak just released its 2018 Flight Hacker Guide. Here are the best places to check out using hacker fares for both domestic and international destinations. The guide also features a list of the best stopover cities and a guide to best airlines by region. Budget travel (and cheap airfare) just got much easier.
