MAPALA-TV

Hi, Steemians!
My name is Olen, and this is my team.

We are students of different universities in Indonesia and Mapala community members, we want to share a part of ourselves and beauty of our country with the world. Indonesia is located on 17,800 islands, 250 million people live here, but most often people know only Bali when it comes to Indonesia. We want to change it.

We love nature, we are engaged in applied research, cartography, environmental activities, and we do all this without having a break from studying. The action team of our community came up with idea to organize television on Steemit platform, and today we announce the start of our project. We have a lot to tell you, and we hope that you will be interested in it.

Today we start to collect information from our members, they will send their amazing stories, pictures and video from their travels. You will see reports, instructions on how to survive, video blogs about life in Indonesia and many more formats which are not opened yet. We will orderly work with the material and then post it on Steemit. The whole world will know about us!

Indonesia is a poor country, and technologies here are not that common. But our President is searching for the opportunities to create our own pool of high-tech projects, for this he even flew to the United States, so we believe that we just need to wait a bit... Our dream is to make full-scale TV channel MapalaTV which could help the authors with some money. If we manage to do it on Steemit, we will be so happy. Thank you!

Some information about Mapala Community:

Mapala is a brotherhood. It means that it's like a family. :-) If we eat, we eat together, if we work, we work together, if someone gets in trouble, we help him out together. Our ideological community helps us not be afraid of being alone in a strange city, because there we will always find a Mapala base (any university). And believe me, any Mapala member will be given something to eat and drink there. They will also find him a place to sleep and take for a journey on the next day, if it possible. For free.

Every weekend we descend in caves or canyons, go rafting or climbing. We do it to maintain skills or teach other students. We are on duty in all universities of the country, we are Indonesian informal rescue service, we are those people who come to the rescue for travelers who landed in trouble. We travel, explore caves, rivers, forests, volcanoes, or just train outdoors, because we like it.

The President of Indonesia-Joko Widodo is also a Mapala member. Maybe someday when we meet him, we'll tell him about Steemit, he will sign up and support us with his voice. He is a simple President, he goes to work on a motorbike, has lunch with everybody, he is just as an average person. We love him, he is our Brother.

Studying in Mapala is just like studying in University, but the program is more interesting. :-)). It includes theory and practice from senior members of the community: rafting, diving, rock climbing, caving, wild plants and animals - all of this is the minimum, every graduate must know. During the session, except for basic university examinations, you should pass the exams in Mapala, and if you do not cope - you stay for the second year in the whole university. Mapala is part of the University program, but only if the applicant chose us and not the actor courses (that's how the education system works in Indonesia). You should pass different Mapala exams in different universities, for example, in university of journalism in Surabaya (on the Java Island), a man should stay in the forest under very tough conditions with just a knife and rocks for making a fire. Only that way he can pass the final exam. Not every army in the world has such training, and let me remind you that we are just students.

In every university the Mapala department has its own name and symbols. We often complete with each other, but always in a fraternal way. Many universities have their own educational traditions, passed from one student to another, because we ourselves teach each other (senior students teach junior ones). The exception is the first year when the instructors of the Indonesian armed forces give us classes of primary physical training.

90% of tourism in Indonesia is provided by Mapala ex-students. After graduation, each student gets the right to wear an instructor headscarf and choose his way forward. A lot of people forever connect their lives with tourism and adventure, continuing to live with the brotherhood.

Our mission is to love and protect nature, spread the ideas of global human unification all over the planet. We regularly organize and participate in all possible activities on environmental protection in Indonesia. We fight against pollution, regularly clean ponds and collect samples from them.

Terima kasih! %) Many countries lost their traditional social systems, but in Indonesia all still. It is a mechanism of communities and we have real many communities in country same with Mapala, and government hear us.

Welcome to steemit! Mapala sounds like a brotherhood I can get behind! I hope to sail to Indonesia in the near future. Perhaps our paths will cross. Best of luck in all your adventures!

Terima kasih! - Thanks in Bahasa Indonesia)

Will be looking forward to join you guys one day soon. Planning to relocate to Indonesia and just live in the Kampong with my girlfriend in the near future. I wish Mapala success in this integration project, and I see Indonesia as one of the front runners when it comes to cryptocurrencies like Steem to develop in. All the best!

Hi @mapalatv

I love your post. Mapala is a very interesting concept. All of the best with your project

One brotherhood around the world will %)

Nice! Looking forward to your adventures!
Salam dari Malaysia :)

I'm fascinated . . . and confused. Is this an informal club? A national level organization with local chapters? A religion? The phrase "ideological community" could mean so many things.

It is a huge student organization in national level. But everyone can be Mapala too, if pass education with us. %) Main idea is - protect nature and be in adventure.

awesome @mapalatv!, naik gunung ajakin gue dong :D

Wow! You open my eyes to the Indonezian world! Such initiative guys!

Ayo! Come to Indonesia, we show you nature!

A good article. I read well.
