Let’s Drink Charcoal Coffee
COFFEE JOSS COFFEE RECEPTION
INGREDIENTS :
- Coffee powder (Arabica Coffee Gayo) may use another black coffee
- Hot water
- Sugar
Charcoal Clean (burned to red) may use bamboo charcoal times yes ask same mas Indra Al Fatih seller Bamboo Charcoal in Indonesia .... hehe
HOW TO PRESENT COFFEE JOSS JOGJA :
- Brewed Powdered Coffee and Sugar (depending on taste) with boiling hot water into a glass
- Put the hot coals into the ready-made glass - pint no.1
- Coffee Joss / Coffee A typical charcoal of Jogjakarta ready to serve
“Oh yeah, charcoal coffee,” said the owner of the house I was staying in, an Indonesian man who the night before had taken my partner and I to a live music night at a local bar to watch Indonesians belt out Beatles and Nirvana ballads. This was a man that was obviously in the know. “It’s the street just north of the train station. There are lots of people selling it, they start setting up around 5:30pm. Just be sure to not get sugar in it,” he said.I was about to go and track down coffee with charcoal in it, and this guy was concerned that my drink might be too sweet for me.

Really nice post. I had before this only heard of kopi Luwak. Which is the coffee where they use the wild cats to ferment the beans. This one seems more interesting though! Especially like the cross cultural aspect
