If we view the world, not as something to wonder at and be humbled by, but as something that can be controlled and bent to our will. That we don't serve nature but nature is to be manipulated to serve us. Eventually we will see people who are part of nature to also be manipulated in order to serve us. This leads humanity to divide into those groups that manipulate and those who are manipulated. The conditioners and the conditioned. Power is the means to condition others to demand you to rule over them.
