Mobile banking app Revolut adds support for Litecoin and Ether

Mobile banking startup Revolut has decided to add support for the exchange of Litecoin and Ether within its application-based service. The move to add new cryptocurrency options follows the decision to add support for Bitcoin last July, after completing a financing round for Series B of US $ 66 million.

The company's chief executive, Nikolay Storonsky, announced yesterday that all customers could start negotiating new offers starting on Thursday, according to TechCrunch. In addition, users' cryptocurrency funds will act as backup for their Revolut debit card. Indeed, if a user runs out of fiduciary currency when making a payment, the application will automatically convert the appropriate amount of a cryptocurrency to compensate for the deficit.

Storonsky said the new integrations could help introduce more users to cryptocurrencies, adding that despite being one of the hottest trends in the world at the moment, exposure to cryptocurrency has been time consuming and expensive.

The Revolut application currently offers digital banking services, as well as card payment services through MasterCard. Users can use any of the 25 supported fiduciary currencies to purchase cryptocurrencies within the app.

Revolut is the second mobile payment company to announce the expansion of cryptocurrency support in the last week, after Abra launched support for Ether on Tuesday of last week.

Speaking to investors during the Coindesk: Invest Consensus, Abra founder Bill Barhydt said the application would be compatible with more than 50 fiduciary currencies along with cryptocurrencies. In any case, those who are seeing more benefits are the users, as more and more companies continue to add support for cryptocurrencies within their payment applications, which makes it much easier for Blockchain market lovers.
