Discover in what year the tomb of Jesus Christ was built

It is believed that the Church of the Holy Sepulcher, in Jerusalem, contains the resting place of Jesus Christ. However, over the years, the tomb has been desecrated several times, has suffered violent attacks, some natural disasters and centuries and centuries of attrition.

Due to their numerous reconstructions, modern researchers have had difficulty in proving or disproving the great claims of this religion.

For the first time, scientists have carried out an analysis of the original surface of the limestone of the tomb and the surrounding marble slab, in order to establish the date of its creation. According to National Geographic, it has been dated to 345 AD.

The work was directed by the National Technical University of Athens during the restoration works of the Edicule sanctuary, inside the Church of the Holy Sepulcher of Jerusalem.

Although the work still can not definitively confirm whether Jesus was buried there, this date is consistent with the historical accounts that the tomb was discovered by the Romans and consecrated in AD 326, at which time the emperor was Constantine, the first chief of the Roman Empire that was Christian.

Prior to this investigation, the oldest dated piece dated back to the Crusades, which means that it was only about 1,000 years old. This is aligned with the records, which show that this church was almost completely destroyed in the year 1,009 AD.

The existence of Jesus Christ, as a religious entity, is a subject of endless debate. However, most modern scholars argue that there is enough historical evidence to believe that Jesus of Nazareth was a real man and not a purely mythological figure.

It is a really interesting discussion, encompassing historical, archaeological, scientific and theological fields. It is also true that it is a debate that, at all, will be resolved soon, even after the new discoveries.
