Bitcoin search indexes on Google are higher than those on Gold

The rise in Bitcoin prices has caused a similar pattern in search engine traffic. This is very much influenced by the fact that the new generations are leaving behind what traditional investments are and are considering using their funds in something more attractive to them.

Google Trends made a graph where you can see carefully the turn in the interests of users. In the drawing you can see the increase in searches for the phrase "Buy Bitcoin" from November of last year, until November of this year, and the comparison is made with the phrase "Buy Gold".

From this data you can measure the growth of the popularity of bitcoin. The trend is very understandable, because for the time being it has proven to be an investment mode that represents long-term gains, and is a more stable market than gold. Also, apart from the growth in the searches, it can be detailed in which regions of the world, the interest is more considerable.

The countries with the most search indexes are many regions of southern Africa, but there are also many Latin American countries in this group, such as Bolivia and Colombia, Slovenia and Nigeria also have high indexes, the latter two are interesting, since that, in Nigeria there is a lot of economic instability, but Slovenia is the country of one of Bitcoin's biggest exchanges, Bitstamp.

On the other hand, there is currently an increase in the operations in exchange offices, in which dollars, wons and yen circulate, as main fiats currencies, being Bitfinex, the cryptocurrency exchange service with the largest number of operations.

We are quickly moving towards a digital world and bitcoin will be the store of value in the future. People still hold onto the idea of gold like it is 1917 instead of 2017.

In the end, we are going to see a fair chunk of the $8.5T gold market eaten up by bitcoin.
