Purpose And Passion In Life

The issue of why do I exist in this world? What am I here to do? What is the worth of being alive? And on and on and on is the most overwhelming questions going on in the minds of many. The answers to these questions needs to be sorted, discovered or processed and because of that, many people push the matter aside and move on with their life.

It is surprising to know that somewhere along the path of life, many becomes afraid whether or not they are fulfilling their purpose in life. Even though that are successful in life, most times when they don’t find joy and happiness, they ask whether they have been operating in another person’s place. Some will question their success in life whether it is even destined for them in the first place.

I once sat with people who believe so much that purpose in life is all about what you are passionate about. They believe that the reason behind your passion for or on a particular thing is enough evidence to prove that, therein lays your purpose. But, as we digress into this matter with various illustrations and circumstantial facts, they observed with certain reasoning that one can be passionate about many things in life which leaves you venerable to which of those things you are passionate about, is your true purpose in life.

The issues surrounding passion and purpose needs to be clearly understood as much as possible. It is important to note that being passionate with or towards something doesn’t make it your purpose. Your purpose in life is not the same as your passion for something. So, being passionate about something doesn’t show or prove that it is your purpose in life. This brings us to the point where I will simply ask, what is a purpose?

Among other views in line with the meaning of a purpose, I will like to simply define it as the reason for which something exits, is done or created. You exist because of your purpose in life not because the passion you have for various activities in life. In a nutshell, purpose is all about the reason, the main aim for your existence and not just about your passion.

The answer to the quest of understanding the purpose of something that exist lays in the hands of its manufacturer. The one that made the product has the purpose which is the reason for producing that object or entity.

Let’s look at a car, ship and airplane, the are all designed for a purpose and where designed to achieve that purpose through different means. Each of them have their place of operation. A car for the road, a ship to cruise and a plane to fly. Even though their source of production is on the ground, irrespective of the environmental setting or what it is called liked, factory, dockyard or hangar; their purpose is the same but their place is different from each other. So understanding the source, the reason for its production and the place it is meant to serve, exposes you to it purpose.

A car is meant to apply on the road, the ship to cruise on water and the plane to fly in the sky, they all have different looks, shapes and size, but its purpose my friend is for Transportation.
