Dance is a delicate balance between perfection and beauty. Ghunghroo, also known as Ghungroo, Ghoonghroo, Ghunghar, Ghunghur, Salangai, and Tinklebells. Many tinkerbells are strewn together to create this musical feet ornament that adorns the feet of Indian classical dancers.Ghungru is used in the dance performances in India from the ancient times. India itself is known for its rich cultural heritage and its aesthetic sense for dance and music. Ghungru is also known as the Dancing Bells.Ghungroos serve to accentuate the rhythmic aspects of the dance and allow complex footwork to be heard by the audience.

Dance is the hidden language of the soul. They are worn immediately above the ankle, resting on the lateral malleolus and medial malleolus.Ghungroo, also known as Salangai in Tamil, are small metal bells, mostly made of brass, strung together to form a musical anklet, worn by the dancers be it Bharatanatyam, Kathak, Kuchipudi, Mohiniyattam or Oddisi. A string of ghungroos can range from 50 to greater than 200 bells knotted together. A novice child dancer may start with 50 and slowly add more as he or she grows older and advances in his or her technical ability.
