Actress Maxine Peake's Pathetic Palestinian Propaganda Ploy
I would say this is peak Peake, but I had never heard of this poser before.
In other words, there never was an actual show. I wonder if she will be refunding those who bought tickets, or using the proceeds to help Gazans Hamas.
Actress Maxine Peake has cancelled her one-off, one-person London performance of a play by a Palestinian playwright, saying it was a statement about the destruction of a theatre in Gaza.Ms Peake, who is an outspoken supporter of Jeremy Corbyn and has dismissed allegations of antisemitism within Labour, had been due to appear in the show Obliterated on August 9.
The date is the first anniversary of the destruction of the Mishal Cultural Centre in Gaza, the strip's only functioning theatre, by an Israeli airstrike.
The IDF said the five-storey building was "used by the Hamas terror organisation for military purposes".
The free performance at Amnesty International's London offices had been fully booked but on Tuesday Ms Peake announced it was cancelled.
“There was once a theatre that was obliterated. There was a show that did not go on," Ms Peake said.
“Our play is cancelled because art should not be targeted by soldiers or anyone else, in Gaza or anywhere else.
“The show is cancelled. The show must not go on - until we, they, all of us, are free.”
I suspect her greatest performance is when she says this with a straight face:
“I’ve always been very open. I’m very pro-Palestine and anti the occupation but that doesn’t make me antisemitic. Not at all.”Update: Apparently it was a free show, so if Peake wants to donate to Hamas, it will have to come out of her own Bitcoin.

Update: Another take on this - Amnesty was complicit in this scam.
So putting on a fake play fits in exactly with Amnesty's playbook of making up lies to incite people against Israel.To thinking people, however, it shows that Amnesty is not a sober and objective reporter of human rights abuses but an active propaganda outlet to incite hatred against the Jewish state.
