Pakistan Weddings

Today a thought came into my mind that pakistani weddings are full of animation, enthusiasm & emotions.Like they are full of Excitement.
They have a Long chain of ceremonial events,
Mangni
Mehndi
Nikkah
Barat
Valima
They are full of colors and basically is a social gathering where people come to enjoy the togetherness and happiness of two people and two families.
A traditional Pakistan's wedding celebration last an average of five to seven(5-7) Days.
The first event which took place is Mangni ceremony where as most people in the world says it an Engagement ceremony.
What is Mangni ceremony???
Mangni is more like a promise in between bride and groom through exchanging RINGS. It is performed before a certain period of time from marriage.Mostly people in pakistan like to celebrate this event with only close members of friends and family but some people also like to celebrate it on a Big budget they hire caters and photographer.
the next event after Mangni(Engagement) in a traditional Pakistani wedding is MEHNDI ceremony.
In my opinion it is the most pleasant and happening event of any pakistani wedding. The beauty of this event is that some days before marriage BRIDE & GROOM are free from all chores or household responsibilities and they are suppose to enjoy and relax with their family and friends. Groom family and friends bring Mehndi/Henna at Bride's home in beautifully decorated baskets,which is applied on bride's body,hands and feet. In MEHNDI girls and ladies like to wear YELLOW dress in this event.
Now the most important event of the Wedding in Nikkah Ceremony.
Nikah (نِكاح) is the formal wedding service where a marriage contract (نکاح نامہ) is marked by both the lady and the prep in nearness of relatives. The nikah is performed by an Imam, Mufti, Sheik or Mullah, who is authorized by the administration to play out this custom. The lady of the hour and prep must both have two witnesses present to guarantee that the marriage is consensual.
After nikkah the most heart warming ceremony take place where the BRIDE is send with GROOM to their new Home which is known as BARAT/RUKHSATI.
