The boys had been out of the womb for 11 days but they had not been together since.

"So we laid him there and all of the sudden as soon as he felt Hawk, he reached his arm out and grabbed him and just started to smile. The two of them knew they were there for each other," says Brandy.

The boys parents kept asking people to pray for Hawk, hoping his condition after the surgery would improve.

The family was hopeful as Hawk's belly was not so swollen as it was prior to his surgery. On September 3rd, they posted on Facebook, "We don't want to brag but Hawk has had a good two days!"

CDH is a life-threatening condition but they were hopeful with the medical attention he was receiving and the power of prayer, Hawk would come through.

"The whole ordeal is as bad as you can get. The doctors aren’t giving us false hope. We know it’s a long shot," said Tommy.

Unfortunately by Wednesday September 7th, the family shared the heartbreaking news that Hawk had passed away.

"Our hearts are saddened this morning as our sweet little man was called home to be with Jesus. He went very peacefully and we know he's no longer suffering. Please give us some time to grieve and try to start the healing process," the couple shared the tragic news on Facebook.

The photo has gone viral with likes and shares from people in Canada, Ukraine, United Kingdom, and other parts of the globe.

"This picture was taken a 11 days after they were born, it’s the first time they have ever touched, and as soon as Mason felt Hawk he reached out for his arm and smiled this big. We thought it was time for everyone pulling for our boy to see this picture," wrote the family on Facebook when they posted this photo.
