Teachings of Christ

in #religion6 years ago

Jesus often sat down as He taught. Mt. 13:1-3; 15:29; 24:3; 26:55; Mk. 4:1; 9:35; 12:41; 13:3; Lk. 4:20; 5:3; 10:39; 14:15; 22:14; Jn. 4:6; 6:3; 8:2 (16 passages!). And He never used any sermon notes.
Jesus said, “My doctrine is not Mine, but His that sent Me.” Jn. 7:16
Everything that Jesus said was given to Him by the Father (Jn. 12:50); therefore it behooves us to take great heed to every Word of Jesus.
The Father always told Jesus what to say; and Jesus faithfully delivered to us the Words of the Father.
The Words that Jesus spoke came straight from God. And those who keep the Word of God, love Jesus.
If Jesus always spoke whatever the Father gave Him to say preachers should do the same today.
The Father gave the Spirit without measure unto Christ, and Christ spoke under that inspiration and anointing and we are to follow the example of Christ.
Jesus taught by precept and parable — in the temple, in the market place, on the mountain, and down by the seashore — in big cities and little towns — to multitudes and to individuals. It was all the same to Him.
He saw in nature illustrations of Divine Providence for the fouls of the air and the flowers of the field and used them to illustrate God's great care for us.
The message, ministry, and mission of Christ was to the Jews first, and then to all kindreds, people, and tongues — and that for all generations.
The words of Jesus yet speak to men, of all nations, of all ages. After 2000 years His teachings have never been fathomed, much less surpassed.
Jesus said, He that is of God heareth God's Word and everyone that is of the Truth, hears My voice. Jesus bid us hear His word and abide in the truth.
Martha was busy serving the disciples, yet troubled about many things. But Mary chose to sit at His feet and listen to Him, and He commended her for it.
Therefore, let all the Words of Christ have place deep within your heart.
For if we continue in the Words of Jesus, we shall be His disciples indeed. Jn. 8:31
If you want to know Jesus better, read the four gospels, slowly, carefully, and prayerfully — especially prayerfully.
The more you read the Gospels the more you know how Jesus thought, spoke and acted.
The Church needs to stop and think about what Jesus actually taught in the four Gospels and start applying it in our lives.
Whatever Christ says about anything, I just go along with His thinking.
Everything Jesus said and did was aimed at turning people away from hell and drawing them up to heaven.
Jesus said, “Now you are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you.” Jn. 15:3
Those who hear the Words of Christ, and believe on the Father, Who sent Him, pass from death unto life. Jn. 5:24
Blessed are they who hear the words of Jesus and keep them. Lk. 11:28
When you live according to His Word, it makes both you and Jesus happy.
The Bible is the written Word of God and Jesus is the Incarnate Word of God. The Scriptures is Christ reduced to written form.
Jesus is the Faithful Witness. Rev. 1:5. He is the Personification of all universal and eternal truth.
