Tardigrades are eight-legged water animals. They were discovered by german zoologist Johann August Ephraim Goeze. They can be found anywhere. From mountaintops to deep sea.

Some tardigrades species can withstand extreme conditions and survive in impossible environments . They can survive complete global mass extinction events due to astrophysical events, such as supernovae, gamma-ray bursts, large asteroid impacts, or passing-by stars.

Tardigrades are usually about 0,5 mm in size when fully grown. They are short and has four pair of legs.
