Daily dose of inspiration: Prejudices

in #mindfulness8 years ago

Depending on how much you care about other people's feelings, in that extent others posses you. That is a spiritual prison. Imagine how crazy it is trying to nurture other people's idea of yourself!

What do others really know? They don't know themselves, and they think they know you. But you put yourself in that prison. What were the reasons - only you can tell. Maybe you depend on them. In that case, think again about yourself.

The only thing I am interested in is authenticity. It is the source of my inner balance and my cognition that my peace, joy, balance and success don't depend on anyone.

Remember that success is rarely forgiven by others.

Envy is the by-product of ego, which feels that something is taken if something good has happened to others or if someone can do more than you can. Identity of ego depends on comparison and feeds of the believe that it has or knows more.

Or it chooses the victim role. If you experience failure, through ego you begin to think that life is being more unfair to you than to others.

It would be nice if we were living in the world of awaken people, people who are motivated and inspired by the success of others. But we are not. Foreign success irritates many because of only one reason. It reminds them of their own failures. They are comparing themselves with you, and they don't understand it is nothing but ego doing best in repairing the low self-worth feeling.

We are rash in bringing a conclusion or thoughts about other people. When we make a judgement about someone, we wrongly think that the conditioned patterns of his thoughts are his real behaviour. Your judgement act is, in fact, unconscious pattern. He is the consequence of ego.

Prejudices of any kind imply that you are identified with the mind and therefore thinking with the ego. It means that you can no more see other human being, only your own opinion of that human being.

Deducting life circumstances of another human being on your own idea how should that circumstances look like is nothing else than a form of violence! I have zero tolerance on every form of violence. In that moment i don't stand on the side and I don't philosophize about spiritual platitudes and phrases. Then I am ruthless in defense.

Isn't it beautiful being authentic and being able to tell the truth completely independent what others think?
It is deemed success being what you are in the world who constantly pushes you to become someone else.

Some great reading and great way of thinking. Thank you for sharing this with us. Its true what you say.

I like this post and resteemed it. Cool pics... :)

This is the constant trap that most people fall into. With guilt trips and other forms of emotional hostage, we paint a world that's more comforting than the one we're forced to live in. I don't feel we should abandon envy or jealousy, but recognize them for what they are, since each thing serves its function. I feel like the trick is to keep the ego working within the confines of the higher mind.

Really provocative piece for Monday, just the way I like it:)

It is true, we should aim to detach from ego completely but the reality is that it will always be present.
And that is normal. Thank you for your reply.

Indeed interesting,
I agree for the most part, I do however feel that as one grow older the need for ego diminish as acceptance of yourself and your circumstances grows. I think the more you realize that at the end of ones life everyone have the same destiny, the way someone else took was just different than yours. It becomes a joy to see what someone else achieved and accomplished.

That is right! If we can look at success of other people without jealousy it can be an inspiring and pleasant experience.

this is cool.. i enjoy reading this. upvoted
