Lets take look on the poverty levelbin india.
India a rich countrt in culture, heritage and natural recources. India is the home of billionars as well the slums. The vast variation in the cultre and geogrpahy of india is due to innumerable factors of which we all indian are aware about. The rich is getting richer and poor is getting poor.
The largest city on the Indian subcontinent—and the world’s largest city proper—holds millions of impoverished residents, well civilized citizens , gentle men and the looteras( robbers) within its boundry. National Geographic described life there: “All cities in India are loud, but nothing matches the 24/7 decibel level of Mumbai, the former Bombay, where the traffic never stops and the horns always honk. Noise, however, is not a problem in Dharavi, the teeming slum of one million…where as many as 18,000 people crowd into a single acre (0.4 hectares).some people live in such a misery, they dont get a hand full of food and 3 feet of shelter undrr the roof. So these live under the flyovers in the city and under the shade of trees. Some reside on the banks of rivers and some on the railway tracks.By nightfall, deep inside the maze of lanes too narrow even for the putt-putt of auto rickshaws, the slum is as still as a verdant glade. Once you get accustomed to sharing 300 square feet (28 square meters) of floor with 15 humans and an uncounted number of mice, a strange sense of relaxation sets in.”

Those who live in the rest of the country fare little better. According to India’s Socioeconomic and Caste Census, the nation still has the world’s largest number of poor people in a single country. Of its over 1.2 billion inhabitants, an estimated 363 million live below the poverty line. Nearly three-quarters of these live in rural areas...

For all this scenerio, who is responsible? We indians are the outsiders or foreigners?
For how much time shall we blame others for our miseries and apathies?
Its high time for us to wake up and stand for each other, help each other raise. Lets join hands and build a beautiful nation...

Interesting post. I have read several novels by Indian writer's, the latest was White Tiger. Are you familiar?? Do you think an economic alliance with China's belt & road would help bring more people out of poverty? There is certainly a new economic system required.

Yes! The one belt one road (OBOR) could be a best oppertunity for every country in which the road passes, particularly india..since our trade relation are very good with chaina..but india lags in export. We have only 3% shares of export with china. I think OBOR is a great oppertunity for india to increase the export and overcome the pverty. But unfortunatly india is yet not a part of OBOR.hope india will be soon a part of OBOR n hope for the best.

As India break away from US and UK influence, it will benefit from China. Maybe India will be exporting more to the US in ten years.

Yes! Now India has good ties with Israel also. India can export and import with them also. Cheers
