Review // new Spider-Man game - PS4?

Video games are getting so impressive, almost a little too impressive, and its quite worrying too. I remember when games used to look like this:

Now they are looking something more along the lines of this:

Wow, video games, like TV shows, are beginning, I think, to be able to compete with film, yes I think games have improved and progressed so much I think games are soon going to be in the same catagory as films and television.

Alright, my overall thoughts: I really love the graphics. Games lately such as Injustice 2, Battlefront II and now Marvel’s: Spider-Man are changing the face of gaming, as they are beginning to look so realistic.

Okay, so what did I think of the game? I really liked what I saw in the gameplay trailer and the actual trailer. In the game Peter Parker is 23 years old and has been Spider-Man for eight years now, so he is very experienced which I think will be very fun to get to play around with, as we will get to use new moves maybe comic fans haven’t seen yet, which is very exciting. The gameplay revealed a few things; prior to the games beginning the crimelord, Kingpin, had been locked away and defeated by Spidey, however construction on Fisk Towers are still proceeding around New York City, and Spidey finds himself protecting criminals from other criminals. Ooo, that sounds very exciting.

I also loved the movement Spidey makes, from swinging around the city, to his special power up moves to his running along the walls, it all looked so effortless and fun. Yes, although this Spidey is an older version, he still has the same sense of fun that he had when he was 15. But the costume, wow, I love it. It is a combination of all three film Spidey suits, but also is very much its own thing. I love the way the eyes move and shrink and the white logo is truly eye catching.

But its not only Spidey that looks amazing. New York City looks so alive and like a character within itself, and its fun to see the background being included in games, as so often in games, the background is a place that is untouchable. But New York feels real, and looks real.

So thats what we saw, but now, to what we learnt? We learnt a few things; we know that the game will be an open world game from the start, we learnt that we’d be able to play as Peter Parker and Spider-Man and that both would have quite a compelling story, and that some other villains and supporting cast will be in the game too. This is very exciting. This game should act as a celebration of Spider-Man, and I hope they do allow it to just be a giant Spidey game, praising all his characters that help make the character so popular.
