God Motive

in #steemchurch8 years ago

God’s motive when He reveals anything to us concerning another, is always for that person’s well being.

What is your motive?

The heart and thrust of an intercessor is to take whatyou see, hear and discern lacking in others to God in prayer. We must ascertain that we are not tools in the enemy’s hand to accuse the brethren, that is his unsavory role not ours. The
Holy Spirit convinces us of sin, He doesn’t condemn us. He is not a gossiper, if and when he imparts to us a word of knowledge concerning an individual it is for a holy purpose, because he builds holy character, that situation is a call to
intercede, in other words He is gently asking you to pray about it.

Whenever we see needs we should see them through the mercy and long suffering of God, through the eyes of love, remembering always how we were lost and someone somewhere was interceding on our behalf. My mother comes to mind when I think of a person who I believe with all of heart was interceding for me when hell was bellowing my name. I know without a shadow of doubt that she prayed me into the Kingdom of God, and to go higher than that Jesus ever lives to make intercession for us. She couldn’t have prayed without a revelation of Jesus Christ in her heart.

It is how you perceive the call to intercede which will determine what you believe about it or whether you will act upon it. I believe it is a privilege being called by God to pray and having audience with Him. It is the next greatest privilege that I’ve ever been given next to salvation. First the acknowledgement of the shed blood of the Lord Jesus Christ is necessary in order to pray and have audience with God. Prayer has so many different aspects it is multidimensional. Repentance is an aspect of prayer, which must precede all types of prayer. The veil of the temple was rent, and therefore gave us the right to come to the throne of grace by Jesus’ precious blood. The priests were the intercessors in the Old Testament. Intercessory prayer is a priestly office.

Prayer is powerful because God has all power and is all powerful (Omnipotent.)

"The eyes of the Lord are upon the righteous and his ears are open to their cry" (Psalms 34:15 KJV). Intercessory prayer is a cry to God.

Naturally speaking if any man or woman was given the opportunity of meeting the President of the United States. I think he or she would deem that an honor; and if the President extended to them the courtesy to dine with him and have an ongoing conversation, they would esteem it one of their greatest privileges in the natural. How much more is the audience with our Father the Creator of this universe, that is truly my greatest privilege and I don’t take it lightly. The call to intercede is a special honor we are given to commune and fellowship with the Father. As we assess the situation to present in prayer, we can tell Him about it and He can work it out, and give us the discernment that we need to see into the spirit realm and be instructed how to conduct battle and warfare against the forces of darkness. To be instructed how to pray because my infirmity is that I don’t know how to pray, as I ought, but the Holy Spirit who resides in us knows how to pray the perfect will of God in every situation. I encourage you to please see that intercessor prayer is for all believers, so that it is not something afar off. God is calling all of His people to prayer.

"If my people, which are called by my name, shall humblethemselves, and pray, and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land" (II Chronicles 7:14 KJV)

We are His people and we are called by His name (Christians).

We the Body of Christ must diligently ask God what time is it? I know this is a challenge for me in my own personal walk with God. I find that time is of the essence, if I am going to redeem it properly. I can feel the spirit calling me into prayer, if I deem people important. Intercession for the unsaved! What a compassionate call. Beloved He loves us and only wants the best for us.

Lord what time is it?

It most certainly is not time to sleep because my senses are dulled by the pleasures of life. It is not time to be distracted by the cares of this life. Usually when asked what time it is we have to look at a clock or watch, etc. God dwells in eternity. Our time is not His time.

  1. Will you stand in the gap?

  2. Will you watch on the wall?

  3. What are you willing to do to see the purposes and plans of God manifested in the earth?

  4. Is witnessing to the unsaved your reality?

You can pray and the door of opportunity will open, when you are praying you are doing something, you are not idle or motionless you are moving, even when it seems you are standing still. You really may be standing or sitting still physically, but your spirit has transcended the physical realm. Your spirit is the candle of the Lord; it is flickering and wants to be ablaze. In the spirit realm there is motion. God is the mover, shaker and the regulator. All glory to God (Hallelujah.)

Is it time to wake up to prayer? Yes, it is intercessory prayer time!

I see prayer as a wake up call! If it is ignored we will only go to sleep to what is really and truly important on God’s agenda.

A Maneuver

On morning during my fellowship with the Lord I saw a situation. I saw a man standing with a crown on his head, then all of a sudden a rock was hurled at his head and the crown fell off. Through this scenario I saw the strategy of the enemy. He would want us to wear a crown in war and a helmet in peace. My pastor in New York used to say we have many hats that we can wear, (referencing to being gifted to do many things), but be careful not to put one hat on with crazy glue, in other words, know when to change hats. The crown in this maneuver was representative of the helmet of salvation being worn incorrectly. It was being worn as a crown not a helmet. You wouldn’t wear a crown into heavy battle or warfare would you? I can’t envision King David going into battle with his crown on his head. I believe that he wore garment"s, which were inducive to battle. The helmet of salvation protects the whole head and the ears, whereas a crown would expose portions of the head and the ears to danger. Wearing a crown while engaged in heavy warfare would be very odd. A crown carries the idea of ease not war. Every item of the Armour of God is a weapon we use. All of them are defensive except for the Word of God; it is our only offensive weapon. The Word of God is what will experientially get us on top of opposition and keep us on top.

"If thou wilt return, O Israel, saith the Lord, return unto me: and if thou wilt put away thine abominations out of my sight, then shalt thou not remove" (Jeremiah 4:1 KJV).

A sensitivity to God’s will should always be a part of intercessory prayer or we may be praying outside of His will. Read the preceding Chapters to Jeremiah 7.

"Therefore pray not thou for this people, neither lift up cry nor prayer for them, neither make intercession to me: for I will not hear thee" (Jeremiah 7:16 KJV).

Heavenly Father,

We are Your people who are called by Your name, we humble ourselves and pray, we will seek your face, we repent of all manner of sin and turn from it to You, we ask that you would light the fire of intercessory prayer in our hearts, that we would remember Your will always as our central theme as we offer to You prayer for all people everywhere globally and that Your will be done in earth as it is in heaven.

Amen
