From July 25 to 29, The Bitfury Group and Sir Richard Branson – founder of the Virgin Group – will welcome an array of blockchain leaders to Necker Island for the Third Annual Blockchain Summit. The luxury resort will play host to a meeting of the minds, allowing for collaboration and discussion on a range of blockchain-related topics.

According to Forbes, the Summit’s guest list features a number of power players, including former Estonian President Toomas Ilves, Peruvian economist Hernando de Soto, and Afghan Citadel Software Company CEO Roya Mahboob. Estonia is well-known as one of the foremost leaders in governmental blockchain adoption.

One name that might fly under the radar is Brian Forde, a California Congressional candidate and lecturer at MIT. After kicking off his campaign on Wednesday afternoon, Forde is certainly making the rounds. This weekend, he will deliver the closing keynote speech at the State of Digital Money 2017 before jetting off to present at Necker Island.

Wall Street Journal columnist turned cryptocurrency expert Michael Casey will also be in attendance at the Blockchain Summit, as will music entrepreneur Imogen Heap. The presence of conservation visionaries and the relative gender balance (almost half of expected attendees are women) set the Necker Island conference apart from other blockchain events.
