I Present To You The Veritable Guide to Beating The lover's Day Blues

Hello steemians!!
Just when you finally heave a sigh of relief, as you make a turn into the new year. Playing down a grin as you glance at your rear view mirror and see all the Christmas festivities, shopping and cacophony of playing children at your favorite mall fade into the distance, you run into fabuary; parked in front of you like a broken down truck, slowly you down and as a single person, giving you one more thoroughly embarrassing day of the year to deal with l, Valentine's Day.
Being boo-less on Valentine's Day can evoke feelings of loneliness and self-doubt, especially for those who are believers in the mythology of true love. One of my good friends keep saying 'love is not about a particular day, or about cards, flowers, or even being in a relationship. The illusion that coupled people are happy and well-loved can feed feelings of loneliness or isolation for people who aren't with someone, and wish they were'.

Seeing through the illusions of Valentine is the first step to beating the blues. 'Valentine has gone commercial; to make sales of flowers, gift items and even exotic dinners, business owners have sort of made it a "love on steroids" type of situation' Says my uncle Engr. Umoh. 'Singles should not allow not allow themselves to be pulled into the commercial frenzy created by friends and the media. If the only object of love this this coming Valentine is yourself, don't have pity party, have fun and spoil you!' My uncle continued.

The following are more ways that single men and women can enjoy Valentine's Day without worrying about the pressures and pitfalls that often come with the holiday:
Δ Do not define yourself by your relationship status. Your relationship status is not your identity.
Δ If you are single because of a recent loss, allow this to be a day of grieving. Do not pretend that it's not a hard day. Get support and sympathy.
Δ Realize that Valentine's Day is a commercial holiday. It is not about love and relationships; it's about selling flowers, candy and diamond jewelry 💎. Think of all the money you are saving.
Δ This might sound extreme but it's wise; plan well in advance to do something that will not place you in path of billing and cooing couples. Even if you usually like dining out alone, do something else on Valentine's day.
Δ Get together with people who do love you, that could be family members, friends; the people who are already in a relationship with you.

Δ if you are single and you don't want to be, start now to think about what is in the way of you creating the relationship you want. Find ways to work on becoming the person your dream partner would fall in love with.
Δ If you are single and you like it, now is the time to affirm your choice. People who never marry or partner have close, loving, emotionally intimate relationships and lives worth living.
Do not let couple-driven culture define your choice as something wrong.
Finally, according to my mom, "Two important messages that singles should remember on Valentine's Day is that February 14th happens every year, enjoy being alone this year and you would probably have someone to celebrate with next time around. And more importantly, love is not just for couples; it's for all of us".
