Dear All,

Hunger traps people into a life of poverty and ultimately death. People living in poverty—less than $1.25 USD per day struggle to afford safe, nutritious food to feed themselves and their families.

As they grow hungrier they become weak, prone to illness and less productive, making it difficult to work. Some of these peoples If they're farmers, they can't afford the tools, seeds and fertilizer they need to increase their production, let alone have the strength to perform the laborious work.

A child who is chronically hungry cannot grow or learn to their full ability. In short, it steals away their future.

The limited income stop some pupils to go school and this also means they often can't afford to send their children to school (parents inability) or they pull them out to work to help support the family at farm land in order to survived.

Even if children are lucky enough to go to class, their malnourishment prevents them from learning to their fullest.

And you know Lack of education will prevents them to get a better job opportunities in the future, confining yet another generation to the same life of poverty and hunger.

Malnutrition causes stunting when the body fails to fully develop physically and mentally and increases a child’s risk of death and lifelong illness.

Hunger affects children the most and prevents them from building a full, healthy life.

From my last post:
I wrote from a report that say:
Hunger kills more people each year than AIDS, malaria and tuberculosis combined.

Around 9 million people die of hunger and hunger-related diseases every year, more than double the lives taken by AIDS, malaria and tuberculosis in recent year.

So Sad every 10 seconds a child dies from hunger

What can we do about it?

Report says there will be over 2 billion more people who will need food by 2050.

As the world's population is projected to be exceed 9 billion - research says, making sure that there will enough food for everyone to eat will be increasing concern as our population multiply.

The challenge is not a lack of food—it’s making food consistently available to everyone who needs it.

The above picture was taken when visited some farm recent days ago and I saw this big cassava its has me wow.

My thoughts after seeing the great cassava harvest:

  • Empowering farmers: both women and men need to be empower by given them substantial resources for global food security. Women contributed immensely to farming in order to make food available around the globe.

If women and men had equal agricultural resources, both male and females farmers could increase their productivity togther to help lift millions of people out of hunger.

  • Storage facilities:
    Protection and improvement of agricultural safety , there should be proper agricultural preservation for harvested farm product, and provision of the environment for sustainable agricultural production;

  • institutions establishment and creation of administrative organs to facilitate the integrated development and realization of the country's agricultural potentials.
